When we say that adoptions must be initiated or facilitated at a Petco Pet Care Center to count towards your quarterly or annual adoption figures, we mean that the adoption should have:
1) Happened the same day at an adoption event hosted in a Petco.
2) Begun at a Petco Pet Care Center and completed off-site in accordance with your organization's adoption finalization process; or
3) Been initiated off-site or online but was finalized at a Petco Pet Care Center.
Regardless of which of those three situations apply, every adoption should follow the adoption process outlined in the Adoption Partner Handbook, and each adopter should receive both the Petco Adoption Application form. This is very important, since these recorded adoptions will directly correlate with our investment determinations.
